Image Upload Requirements
Uploading an image through chatlyn to use in WhatsApp templates, requires the media to adhere to the WhatsApp Cloud API requirements.
To ensure the best quality and compatibility, please adhere to the following requirements when uploading images to our platform:
-
File Format:
- Only JPEG and PNG formats are supported.
- Ensure that your image file has a .jpeg or .png extension.
-
File Size:
- Though the WhatsApp Cloud API allows for up to 5 MB we recommend you processing images to below 1 MB.
-
Color Mode:
- Images must be in RGB mode.
Attention
A .jpg file will not work, a .jpeg file is required. Note that simple renaming will lead to getting the file through validation but ultimately fail at sending.
What is RGB?
RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue. It is a color model in which colors are created by combining these three primary colors. This model is used for digital images and displays and ensures that your images will display correctly on screens and digital devices.
If you receive an error message for RGB within chatlyn you will most probably have an image in CMYK (suitable for printing) or grayscale which needs to be converted.
