Connecting your Twilio Account will allow you to send and receive SMS messages within a chatlyn inbox.
If you only want to send SMS as part of Automation Studio for a Fallback Alternative to WhatsApp templates, you can do so without a Twilio Account, using chatlyn's native SMS Fallback Sending functionality.
Fallback SMS are One-Way (e.g. One Time Passwords or Confirmation Codes), meaning your recipient will not be able to reply to them. This can be activated by our for you and will be recurrignly charged based on usage.
Requirements
You will need a Twilio account, set up a number and retrieve the following Information from your Twilio Account Dashboard
- Account SSID
- Auth Token
- Twilio Phone Number
We do not provide support for setting up Twilio. Please Refer to their Customer support and documentations.
Steps
Visit Settings
Visit Inboxes and click "Add inbox"
Select "SMS" from available options
You will be prompted with the setup screen, enter the information accordingly and continue with agent settings in the next step.
- Name your inbox accordingly for display within chatlyn
- Phone Number (from Twilio Console)
- Account SSID (from Twilio Console)
- Auth Token (from Twilio Console)
